Frameless Balustrade install to garage roof

Frameless Balustrade install to garage roof

Customer: Mr & Mrs Smith, Huddersfield

Mr and Mrs Smith had a raised platform at the front of their house above an existing garage which overlooked some fantastic views. They already had black metal spindles railing system in place but wanted something more modern and contemporary. They decided to go for the frameless glass system to showcase the fabulous views.

After searching for ideas on the internet for stainless steel and glass balustrade they found Global Walkway Solutions and called to discuss their project and requirements.

We met with Mr & Mrs Smith to discuss the project further and based on their requirements and ideas we put forward some ideas utilising our architectural stainless range and offered various options. They decided to go for our new range of frameless glass system.

Through this consultation process it was decided that we would use TL–6020 top mount system which has NO top rail to break/interrupt the view as this would help to keep a more minimalistic open type of vista they wanted to achieve, keeping the outlook open and views beyond visible.

We took all necessary measurements and calculated the required materials. We then submitted the quotation to Mr & Mrs Smith, which was shortly agreed upon, after which we implemented an agreed plan of action.

We recommended that some extra fixings and corner returns needed to be fitted to the frame to promote extra safety. Meanwhile we would issue materials and all other necessary components to the customer's installer for cutting/fabrication prior to commencement of work on site.

Mr and Mrs Smith involved their own builder to remove the current railing system and place coping stones on the wall for the frame to be fitted on to it.

Swiftly following the preparation work, the customer's installation team commenced with installation of the frame to the area. Once these were in place, we could get the exact sizes required for the glass infill panels, the glass could now be ordered for manufacture.

Just over a week later, once the glass was manufactured, the installation team returned to site to fit the glass and complete the installation.

Mr & Mrs Smith were thrilled with the end result and how it had transformed the front of their house, commenting that they will look forward to many family occasions on their, enjoying the view.
